1. You should be sent to this link to create an account for the integration. Note: this account is only used for access through The DAM Consultants.
Bynder-HubSpot Connector
Sync files of any type from your Bynder DAM to HubSpot. Follow the user guide for instructions on installation and use of the integration.
The Bynder-HubSpot integration allows users to sync assets of any type directly from their Bynder DAM to HubSpot for use in Marketing hub, Content hub, or any other hub that allows users to add assets. Users are given the flexibility to sync assets to a Bynder Media Bridge module in order to utilize live Bynder-hosted files that will be updated via URL, or can continue to use the default HubSpot workflow by making a copy of the asset into HubSpot’s file manager. Following this document, users can manage the installation and use independently. For more information and support, contact sean@thedamconsultants.com.
Installation
2. Navigate to the HubSpot App Marketplace and search ‘Bynder’ or filter by the
Content Management System option to find the integration listing. Click ‘Install App’
to begin the setup process.
3. You will be prompted to allow access for the integration. Once allowed, you will be redirected to the DAM Consultants integrations portal. Log in with the account created in Step 1 and select the free trial option.
4. Navigate to Sync Settings. Select one or both options for how assets should sync automatically (if desired).
- Media Bridge will sync assets to the custom Bynder Media Bridge module. This is the recommended option and will allow assets to continue to be hosted by Bynder. Any changes made to an asset will be reflected in real time wherever the asset is used, since only the URL of the asset is served to HubSpot.
- HubSpot library is the default option from HubSpot. Any files synced here are copies, so any change made in the DAM will need to be manually updated in HubSpot.
5. Navigate to Sync with Bynder. Select any metaproperty from the dropdown and any
value(s) that should automatically sync to HubSpot. You can add additional
selections if needed and your selection can change any time. This is only needed if
an automated syncing of assets is desired.
6. If assets should be synced to specific folders in HubSpot, use the Asset Destination Folder(s) box.
- Choose Existing Folder: Your existing HubSpot folders will be displayed. Select the folder for all assets to sync to.
- Custom Folder: Create a new folder or assign each metaproperty value to its own folder in HubSpot. If the folder(s) do not exist, they will be created automatically.
Use of the Integration
1. within the integrations panel, click on Sync Using Bynder UI”. You will be
prompted to enter your Bynder domain and user credentials. This will allow you to
access the Bynder UI from the portal. You can add any assets from here, rather than
making a selection to automatically sync any assets.
2. Return to HubSpot. If using the HubSpot library option, you can continue to use the same workflow you have previously used in HubSpot. To add an asset, simply drag an Image, Video, or Document module into a template. When you access the library, you should see your assets in a folder under ‘Bynder’
- The HubSpot library only allows files to be hosted in HubSpot. This means any assets synced to this library will be a copy of your Bynder asset. To update a new version, change the status of the custom attribute ‘HubSpot Sync Status’ to ‘Resync’. Once saved, the asset will be updated in HubSpot.
3. If using Media Bridge, look for the module called ‘Bynder Media’. This looks the same
as the HubSpot library but only includes files that are hosted in Bynder. Notice that
images, videos, and documents are all available in this module.
4. To add additional assets from your Bynder DAM, utilize the Chrome extension called ‘Bynder-HubSpot connector’. Use the same credentials used for the integration portal, and once logged into Bynder, access the DAM UI to add any assets.
- No automatic sync is necessary to use this feature. However, the settings
that designate which library assets sync to will still be applied.
